TEKELİ-SİSA ARCHITECTURE PARTNERSHIP
Tekeli-Sisa Architecture Partnership is among the most well established
and institutionalized architecture practices active in Turkey.
Architecture office founded by Doğan Tekeli and Sami Sisa in 1954 with the name SITE has been renamed to DOĞAN TEKELİ SAMİ SİSA ARCHITECTURE after 1965. In 2000, with the decease of Sami Sisa the new name of TEKELİ-SİSA ARCHITECTURAL PARTNERSHIP was set with the accession of new partners.
The architects have been awarded in over 60 competitions. Doğan Tekeli and Sami Sisa have been granted the "Sinan Award" the most prominent Award of Architecture in Turkey, by the Chamber of Architects, in 1994. In 2001 Doğan Tekeli has been granted honorary doctoral degree by I.T.U. Senate for his contributions to architecture profession and his standing as an example in the formation of ethics of the profession.
The office has completed over 180 big scale projects of which more than 100 have been constructed. Office is well known with its significant buildings such as Antalya Airport, Oyak-Renault, Lassa, Metrocity, Is Towers, Halk Bank and Treasury Undersecretariat. The range of building types designed in the office cover big scale complexes, industrial and office buildings, housing applications, educational and cultural buildings and landscape reorganizations.
